February is almost over...
Sundays with The Mormon Tabernacle Choir
I'm sure you've heard of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, but have you actually heard them perform LIVE?
All I can say is, "Come and see...and hear!"
If you look on the left side on this blog, you will see a picture that says 'Music and the Spoken Word'. Click on it! It is a link to the broadcast of this radio program. The Choir performs every Sunday morning, and it is a real treat!
Occasionally there are guests who sing along with the choir. Last week it was the BYU Singers. They were wonderful too! Encore! Encore!
A Typical Morning
Believe it or not, I'm up at 5:30 AM, just like the young missionaries!
First, my morning prayer - a happy greeting and grateful meeting with God, followed by reading a few scriptures. The next hour is spent getting ready and packing for the day. There is usually something fun happening during or after work, and I want to be prepared for it.
When I am speed walking to work, my commute is 18 minutes. If there is weather, then I am probably the slowest Sister on the route. My mission has very few rules; this is one of them: DO NOT FALL.
Unfortunately I have seen several people hobbling around, or on crutches, because of slipping on ice. Sometimes there is an Elder who holds the gate open for us in the morning. I soon learned that, yes, he's being nice, but he also can't leave without his companion, who is running 5 feet behind us!
I attend a daily Morning Devotional for our Zone, which includes a prayer and 5 minute inspirational message. What a great way to start the workday!
Then I ascend to my wonderful department. We have a great team! Everyone is positive and works together. This must be a dream, right? Oh no, I'm just surrounded by fabulous people!

An Aloha Dinner
The Aloha Dinner - a monthly event where incoming missionaries are welcomed and departing missionaries are thanked. According to everyone, this was the best one yet! We were treated to lots of food, a live band, and dancing! I guess if our Mission President and his wife can dance, so can we. I love them!
