What does it take to serve a mission? Ask my great ward, family, and friends!

Oh, the journey! These are pictures of the highs and lows we endured while preparing to apply to serve a mission!  But first, The Call to Serve.

"... a shepherd hath called after you and is still calling after you, but ye will not harken unto his voice! Behold, I say unto you, that the good shepherd  doth call you; yea, and in his own name he doth call you, which is the name of Christ." (Alma 5:37-38)

 I heard the call.

Here we go! (Note: I had to move 3 times.)

Who are you going to call?  The Call Team!
Ann & Steve- my real estate agents

Move #2

My Awesome Home Teacher & RS President hard at work!

New home!  New Family!  XOXOXO

At times I was running on empty...scary!  Never again!

There were times when I needed a hug.

The Lord gave me a hug.  "Fear not."
"Arise and shine forth!"  I heard this repeatedly.

Saw this overpowering light- and it gave me strength to continue.
Endure To The End

Sometimes I found messages in the oddest places. I don't even know this song, but, I got the message.

I, too, made a commitment.

Eye exam: dilation & new glasses
TB Test - normal

More pokes, tests, and retests!

What did I do?  Call my Home Teacher...and the Bishop!

Hit 'Submit'!  Hurray!

Appointment with my Bishop
Mission application completed- finally!

Personal delivery to the Stake President- or his wife!
After my interview with the Stake President.  "I'm sending her with a letter."

Lots of praying, before, during, and...waiting...

Request from Sister Heineken: Fax retest results ASAP!

Mail! "You are called to serve in the...." Where? In <30days?
Soon to be like Elders Smallwood & Wizmer

Acceptance letter on the way!

But wait, there's more!  One more move...#3!  Also sold my car, borrowed others', and rented too!  Is God aware of all of this?  You bet He is!  Here's proof:  I had to rent a car, but didn't know how long I would need it.  A month sounded fine, hoping and praying that I would be called to leave ASAP.  The rental car was due back on the 25th of the month.  I was to report for my mission...on the 28!  Only God knew the dates, the details, and the plan.  It's His way, all the way!

Move #3 - Storage
No car, no home.  No problem!

The Lord Is My Shepherd.  I shall not want.

" And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money..." -Luke 9:3

I did leave...with 2 coats.
